Coming off last week’s To DIY or not DIY for your wedding post, I wanted to follow up with a recurring series showcasing some of the creative ways you can do beautiful projects for your wedding that can be used again. I’m telling you, you will thank me later, when you don’t have boxes and boxes of wedding details sitting in your closet for years to come. And getting to reuse those wedding details makes those projects so much more meaningful in the long run, when you get to see them put to use again. Down the line, I will talk about some projects I did for my own wedding that have now been incorporated into our everyday home decor, but today I am going to talk about a super simple project for sparkly winter wedding details that can be used again as holiday decor.

I made these glittered (and gilded) pinecones last year for our winter dining room tablescape and it never even ocurred to me how pretty they would be used as details at a winter wedding until Val & Jeff’s amazingly gorgeous (and sparkly) wedding last month. Val’s sparkly pinecones were scattered across all the tables in the ballroom at the Haley Mansion and it couldn’t have looked more perfect! So, if you are planning a wintertime wedding, these might be a lovely addition to your wedding.

And the best part is…right after the wedding, they can go right onto your table at home, making it beautiful and glam instantly! I even toyed with the idea of adding some ribbon to mine to use as ornaments on our tree. And my good friend Martha (Oh, you shush..we are totally friends…) recently shared a project using glittered pinecones as gift toppers that is an awesome way to use these wedding details again!

So, instead, of me breaking it all down in writing for you, I am going to let the fabulous Martha take it away on video to show you how to make these pretty glittered pinecones for your own winter wedding (or you can just get a can of gold spray paint and go crazy like I did last year) and then you can follow the rest of the steps to use them on holiday presents after the wedding! Love!
