To continue the ‘Wedding DIYs You Can Use Later’ series inspired by my To DIY or Not DIY post, I am sharing a big crowd pleaser today! We have talked about wedding decor turned holiday sparkle and we have talked about wedding DIYs you can incorporate into your home decor, but today’s DIY could potentially fall into both categories!

Remember that creating items for your wedding that have some sort of longevity is always a plus. You don’t want to put all this effort into wedding day projects that will just get thrown away or boxed up for years after your big day. Now, these more involved and multi-purpose projects are not always the cheapest of projects, but if you intend to use them for years to come, they can be totally worth the investment. So, investing in one or two more involved projects that you really love and can be used in again and again…wedding DIY win!

The more involved project that we (and by we, I mean my amazing crafty-when-he-wants-to-be pops) took on for our own wedding were these wonderful light jugs! He created at least a dozen of these wonderfully glow-y glass jugs full of light that were scattered throughout our reception space at Salvage One for our wedding. From the bar to the lounge tables to every nook and cranny of the space, the light jugs brought a subtle magical glow to everything. They really made the space extra special and everyone raved about them!

Now, a year and a half later, and I am sure you are wondering ‘But where are they now?’ Gracing the little nooks and crannies of my house, thank you very much! Okay, so we did sell some and gift a few to people, but mostly we kept them to use in our house! Why not have that pretty glow-y light in your life all the time?! For the past year, we have had a few in our living room…and, as of this past weekend, they were used to grace my booth at Indie Wed (full booth photos coming tomorrow!). Talk about a multipurpose DIY!

These beauties can not only become another wonderfully unique and permanent part of your home decor, but you can also bust them out in multiples for special occasions. I know you are not all creating booths for wedding shows, but they would be beautiful all over your house for the holidays! (All, you need for this project is a drill with a glass cutting attachment, glass jugs of any shape/size, strings of lights, and a little bit of patience for cutting the glass. It’s a little more pricey of a project if you want a lot like we did for our wedding, but they are pretty darn easy to make and super lovely to keep around after your big day!) So, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box for some beautiful wedding DIYs that can be used again and again in your everyday life!

What do you think? What projects are YOU thinking of taking on for your big day?
